Valery has gained a reputation of a Contemporary Master for his large-scale portraits. In 2010 he won The Artist of The Year Award, a major new national art competition that aims to celebrate contemporary painting in Britain. In 2011 he received a Merit Award in the prestigious ArtKudos International competition in USA.
Valery’s art is immediately recognizable not only because of his very individual deployment of painterly techniques, but primarily because of his distinctive vision. It offers a new and engaging reflection on the themes that have fascinated artists for centuries.
He was born in Russia and received an architectural education. For the last 20 years the artist is based in London and exhibits internationally. He works primarily in oil and focuses on corporate and private commissions. His practice spans across a wide variety of media and genres, which include Human Figure, Portrait, Homage to Old Masters, Still Life, and Decorative.
Valery's work has been widely exhibited and is held in many corporate and private collections. Recent projects include private villa in Paris 2013, 18 paintings and sculptural bas-relief, and P&O Cruises, where the designers of the British biggest luxury super-liner Ventura commissioned him 36 paintings & murals.
Recent solo-exhibitions include Standard Chartered Bank, London 2010, The Centre for Strategy and Communication, London 2011 and Osborne Studio Gallery, London 2013.
